Résumé

La place du professionnel de l'information devient de plus en plus centrale par rapport à l'environnement numérique. Plutôt que d'un nouveau rôle, il s'agit d'une extension de ses compétences et aptitudes à gérer l'information. Plusieurs aspects de l'environnement numérique actuel sont ici pris en exemples : numérisation, archives ouvertes, référence virtuelle, apprentissage à distance.

The information professional and the « digitization of the world »

The position of the information professional is becoming more and more central in the digital environment. Rather than being a new role, the competencies and aptitudes to manage information are being increasingly extended. Several aspects of the current digital environment are highlighted: digitization, Open Archives, virtual reference, e-learning.
